What is Six Weeks of August?
Six Weeks of August is a coming-of-age queer romance based in the mid 2010s summer, about a non-binary teenager named Enia (Eh-Knee-Uh) who’s just about to move out of their hometown when they realize they have feelings for one of their best friends, August. Alongside them are their friends, Fiona and Ruby who accompany Enia's last summer in Austin, with everything they've known, and all that they’re leaving behind.

Why does this story matter?
Queer and non-binary representation is hard to come by in the vast universe of film and television, and when represented, it’s almost satirical how far off the characters are compared to the real people they are based off of. Six Weeks of August is a story that matters not only because it’s a queer love story that pertains around an AFAB (assigned female at birth) non-binary character, but also because there is no “coming out” to the story at all. Enia and August are as they are, and the world around them accepts them as just that.
Six Weeks of August is a narrative that showcases the complexities of young love, fleeting time, and growing up and leaving the place you spent your whole life in. The identities of these characters go without saying. They can exist with the comfort of being carried throughout the story, no matter how loud or quiet they appear to be. They are still there, in front of us like they’ve always been.
This production is being led by queer people and women. I want to create a safe and collaborative environment where people of all types can feel comfortable being surrounded by like minded individuals who all want the same thing: to create a love story that has the potential to mean everything to someone, even just one person.
I’m incredibly proud to say that this film is for the LGBTQ+ community and is being made by those very same people.
